The entrees were adequate: cold soup for me (nice) and a paysanne salad for him (nothing much), in an excessively decorated plate). The main course was very bad. We both asked for the lamb chops and there was more fat and bones then meat. The cut was very wrong, thin and cold! The carrots were also cold and the potatoes heavy on the pepper. Service is actually too fast, as if they were in a hurry for you to leave (maybe because it’s also a hotel and they need to prepare the room for breakfast). The creme brulee was good, though. They got the wine wrong and forgot to bring me a spoon for the soup. The waitresses are very polite, as is the manager, but no one asked me why I left my dish practically untouched. I hope this review helps them improve. There is some potential there.
We ate here while staying at the hotel. The food was fine and very reasonably priced. There was nothing that stood out to make it special or memorable but equally nothing that would stop me from eating there again or suggesting that others should do so.
One of us ordered off the menu, having the country salad and lamb chops, the other the 4 course dinner. The Petit country salad made up of lardons, egg, lovely lettuce, tomatoes, and carrots under a vinaigrette dressing was both superb and huge, almost a meal in itself. The appetizer for the 4 course dinner was a mixture of cured raw salmon and diced asparagus in a dish of filo dough and a refreshing tangy dressing, again excellent. Our two main courses, the lamb and a guinea fowl were good, although there seemed to be too much sage in the sauce over the guinea fowl. Both dishes were accompanied by a soufflé made of carrots and savory vegetables and a small bowl of well seasoned roasted potatoes served piping hot. The cheese board had local cheese besides the usual selection of well know national cheese. We recommend the salad and the potatoes.
Very good restaurant! responsible (a young couple) and friendly and friendly staff! we recommend the ravioli we had taken from the very creamy and tasteful salmon as well as the mascarpone dessert and chocolate from the nearby valrhona plant.
