Les Enfants Terribles - Tournai

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty dishes. Although some staff don't speak English, everyone i met is very friendly and doing their best. Ordered mussels for lunch, quite creamy rather than dry, one of the best mussels in Belgium.

Quiet, non touristy, modern traditional French Walloon restaurant, reasonably priced with a very pleasant French only speaking staff that is just off the Grand Place. Limited beer selection, but extensive wine and spirits. Free wi fi that actually works. The pesto with vegetables and parmesan was very good and generously sized, albeit the sauce a little skimpy. After mentioning the pasta was too dry, the waitress brought a small dish of tomato sauce not a feature of the original dish. I chalked it up to my barely passable French and the tomato sauce nicely solved the problem. I felt fortunate to find a non tacky, non brassiere eatery close to central Tournai which is a delightful town in itself.

The tomato and mozzarella appetizer was fantastic, though could have been even better with fresh over dried basil. The pasta with pesto and veggies had real potential though the pasta was slightly overlooked. For Tournai this is a pretty good option and well worth considering and a 3.5 probably overall. With better execution maybe a 4.

It had been a long time since I had not been to the Terrible Children, a few years should I say, and I was pleasantly surprised to rediscover it last night. We hadn't booked, the restaurant was full, but the manager still found us something. Food and service were even better than in my memories, that is to say! Without hesitation:
