Located on the edge of the docks, Rive Gauche is a small restaurant that I consider a safe bet. Grills, salads, regional dishes... a tempting selection and generously filled plates. Undoubtedly, a good value for money. Shrimp skewers, beef tongue with shallots, warm goat cheese salad with basil, sausages, beef ribs... Traditional French cuisine dishes. The service is excellent, and one can enjoy the view over the Scheldt river and barges passing by. Add to that a good Belgian beer and a delicious dessert: the guarantee of a good meal.
Great! A very warm welcome, waitress and friendly waitress. We consumed the menu at 32 euros and we were not disappointed at all. Fresh and quality products. Very good value quality price. Thanks to you, we highly recommend you
I visited this restaurant with a group of 20 clients on our way to Cambrai. The food and service were excellent. Booking via and if visiting the city e mail was really efficient and a large table was ready for us as soon as we walked in. Only a few people had starters, but when the mains arrived, they all came out together and all were hot. The menu was varied and all tastes including vegetarians were catered for. The staff also spoke good English and so were able to help those clients whose French was not up to speed. This is a really friendly restaurant, just round the corner from the cathedral and I have no hesitation in recommending it. Tournai is a hidden gem and if visiting the city, this is a lovely place for a meal.
Ordered the truffle burger. Big mistake. I wouldn't call the meat a burger Patty. It was more of an over seasoned meat wad drowning in truffle oil. I couldn't eat more than half. Will probably never go back.
