Was in the area for business. Had fantastic Seafood pattern. Although the waitresses couldn't speak English I felt quite welcome. Absolutely to recommend for a relaxing
We really enjoyed our meal here on New Years Eve. The seafood was great and the staff really charming and helpful. We got here using the metro from the centre of Toulouse- only a few stops.Would recommend to anyone looking for a more casual, but very enjoyable experience.
If you wish to get some special sea food reserve a table 2-3 days in advance and order what you wish to eat. If as I, you are happy with excellent fresh (non fancy, cheese-less) sea food you ought to be fine and the atmosphere is just great. The oysters, lobsters, and "tourteaux" (crabs) were great. As I was always to late reserving they never had "oursins" (urchins).
If you're looking for good seafood, look no further. Top notch oysters, very generous salads (suitable for a main course), seafood platters overflowing with shrimps, cockles, clams, crab etc etc. Tartare of tuna was perfectly fresh and delicious. There's the odd non-fish dish for variety, but why bother? Informal, friendly atmosphere; décor like the end of a wharf; a short wine list well chosen to match the food: go straight for Picpoul de Pinet and you'll be in oyster/wine heaven. The street is pretty grimy, but La Cabane is a beacon of quality and pleasure that's well worth seeking out. Prices very reasonable indeed.
