Joey's Peruvian Cuisine And Grill

I passed by this restaurant on Union Ave in Totowa, and it's a small place that's easy to overlook. I really enjoy Peruvian cuisine, and I found the roasted chicken to be quite tasty, although the ribs were a bit lacking in flavor. The menu was appealing, so I plan to return and sample more dishes. The customer service was also quite good.

The food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. My first time was when the previous owner was still around, but I came back after learning he had passed away and that the place is now under new management. I must say, the new team is much better than the last one. The food is great, and while prices have changed, it's not a huge difference. The new owner is very friendly and does his best to accommodate any special requests you might have, even if they’re not on the menu. Sometimes you crave something different or need a modification to your order, and he can make that happen. Best of all, they offer delivery!

In my previous visit, the Royal Combo rotisserie chicken was extremely dry. I called to express my concern, and they apologized and issued me store credit for a future visit. I returned today and ordered the same takeout, and I’m happy to say that the awesome chicken I remembered was back. I’ll consider my last experience an anomaly because this remains my favorite Peruvian chicken restaurant.

Joey's food is absolutely delicious. I've been making a special effort to eat there for years, and I'm really happy that they are finally available on DoorDash.
