We had a complete, fantastic lunch for three at a very reasonable price. We got there at around 13,00 on a Friday: don’t be mistaken, it might be empty but it’s just because it’s normal in Italy to eat later. As we sit we get to order, and after a while a special “greeting from the chef” is served. A nice taste of salmon on a local bread. Fresh. Good taste. Nice ingredients. We had a nice octopus salad (2 for three people) as a starter; nicely seasoned and prepared. Decent portion. The octopus was tender and the dish was indeed satisfactory as a starter. A local wine was served in good combination with the choice of plates we ordered. The waiter was really kind and competent about winery and gave us a good insight of wines from the area. As a first main course we got spaghetti with clams. Traditional dish from the south with a great taste and plenty of clams. Sometimes this dish is presented under a cascade of parsley but here it’s not a matter of presentation but taste and quality. After that we got grilled fish, 2 plates for three people. Abundant in size and well grilled: prawn, shrimp, herrings and a mackerel. The food was fresh beyond doubts, not frozen. We ended up with a tiramisu, (2 for 3 persona)newly made and very good balance of sweetness and darker chocolate. The cake was soft and spongy as it should be and not soggy at all. The bill was as expected around 110€ and very clear in specification. Have lunch and dinner here if you look for well prepared traditional courses in a friendly, not pretentious environment. You won’t be disappointed.
I had the good fortune of discovering this restaurant when visiting the coast on holiday. It is set a little back from the main strip, but please make the trip you will be treated to the creations of a multi award winning master. For me the setting and service was excellent, a great atmosphere and the creations that came from the kitchen just made the whole evening perfect. Treat yourself to a great local restaurant with great local food and atmosphere that is most excellent.
