Tropicana Beach Club - Torremolinos

Fantastic location on the beach ideal for watching the sunset with a drink. Large selection of drinks, cocktails and food with various seating options. Well worth a visit.

Just returned after a lovely week in the sun. My review will be a honest one. Booked with Jet 2 and the room we were shown was not the rooms we were allocated on arrival. The rooms shown where at the sister hotel not the Tropicana, felt very disappointed on arrival. Hotel 5th floor overlooking the pool and the beach, the view was amazing but the birds nesting in the reed roof on the balcony were a nightmare especially in the morning at 5:30am! Not to mention the bird poo everywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is ideally situated on the prom and the beach. Hotel sun beds on the beach are charged €6 a day each. Pool area is lovely with plenty of loungers. However the entrance to the hotel is left open and no security so the ‘locals’ would reserve a sun lounger in the morning by putting a towel on them, go the beach and come back to the hotel and sit round the pool until dark plus use the hotel toilets etc. We counted 16 at one point and the hotel staff did nothing to stop this. Rooms spacious however very dated and no air conditioning for the full week of our stay as reception said it was broken so had to leave balcony doors open at night as rooms were stifling. Room only had one electrical socket and a shaver socket in the bathroom. No sockets around the bed area so phones etc had to be charged in the bathroom. Bedding changed at least 3 times during the week, the lady was lovely and very helpful. No kettles in rooms and none available to hire so brought one from the local shop for €12 as no amenities to obtain a cuppa at the hotel. No pool bar open at the Tropicana but could utilise the at, pool etc at sister hotel next door. Breakfast served in the Tropicana was edible but very greasy. Dinner is served in the sister hotel next door which had lots of choice even for a fussy eater like myself. Drinks including water are charged to your room at €2.50 for a small bottle. Hotel beach bar is good, staff are friendly and work long hours. €4 a pint of San Miguel. €8 for a cocktail. No entertainment at the Tropicana again this was shown at the sister hotel next door. No hanging facility on balconies for wet swimwear or towels so had to be hung over the rail which unfortunately was covered in bird droppings. Everything was concentrated at the sister hotel and it felt like guests staying at the Tropicana were the poor relations. The area the hotel is situated is an ideal location and very central for everything but a very basic hotel. The only advice I would give is when booking make sure you aren’t fooled like we where and check what hotel you are placed in. Would definitely return to this area of Spain.

It's much easier to keep a gluten free diet if you follow the Mediterranean diet, and this is the perfect place to do it. On top of that, they can adapt any fish to fry it gluten free. One of the chefs is coeliac.

Limpieza impecable, maravillosa atención. Soy muy exigente y puedo decir que este hotel es espectacular por un precio razonable. Muchas gracias por su excelente servicio.

Es la segunda vez que me quedé en el hotel Tropicana, aunque soy cliente del Amaragua, como leí en algunos críticos el hotel es viejo pero es el único crítico porque la limpieza del desayuno y la cena con la misma calidad que en amaragua, ambas reservas, recepción,camareros las niñas de la limpieza para todos 10 , la piscina muy tranquila, el acceso a la gran playa definitivamente caerá todo y cada vez que pueda. No puedo dejar de mencionar a su director D.Miguel sánchez como su hija bárbara trata a los clientes magníficamente bien.
