When you eat their bbq dishes you really taste that taste that comes from charcoal. I wouldn't really get anything else here but it's such a rare and satisfying taste. The real reason for the 4 star is the quantity though. I went here because my friend would always complain about not being full. He got the large bbq combo and no complaints! it was huge. The service is moderate and the atmosphere isn't special. But the food tastes good and the portions are large!
We've been going to this place for years, and it seems like the wait-staff are new just about every week or so. Especially more-so lately. They often seem overwhelmed, particularly when there are many customers. We both speak some Korean so thats not an issue. Most of the serving staff hired here are new and young, so be prepared for mistakes to happen. Odd that for such a low service level there are signs everywhere reminding customers what the "traditional" tip amount is.That said, the food is good - not great and the place has apparently passed it's inspections from the health department, Kind of hard to believe sometimes. It could use a thorough cleaning.
I'm from England and used to visit Canada every year. This place is my very favourite place to eat in the entire world. There food is so delicious and fresh. And to top it off it is so cheap for what you get. I literally ate there everyday. My mouth is watering at the thought of this place again. One day we will reunite. Love you Yummy BBQ!
Ate at this restaurant a few years ago with my daughter. She decided we should revisit for old times sake. Did not regret. BBQ beef ribs and pork were excellent and went well with sticky white rice. But I especially enjoyed the different spicy pickled veggies (kimchi) that came with it. Not fine dining but certainly a hearty enjoyable meal, Korean style. More than we could eat but left with a take- away. Wait staff were patient and helpful. Worth a return visit.
