The Monarch Tavern - Toronto

Visited the monarch recently for a show. it is a bar only cash and has quite the slowest breath of the world for money. the seats are interesting to the sides of the main floor, with a lot of space in the middle to dance. the sound. was really good, even quite well standing against the stage. the bar staff was pleasant and treated a lot well. the upper floor were also cool. confusing decoration, such as neon signs, black and white films on tvs, a flipper machine, brass, wood and an incredibly varied clientele. it was a great night.

A regular stop on the annual record purchase pilgrimage. great place to stop for a beer. good choice on hahn and in bottle. in the rule we take a sandwich in san Francesco’s and eat up. two flat to the bar where I've never been. the lower level. bartender is always friendly. worn, but well worn it fits like a favorite shirt.

Enjoyed a San Francesco veal sandwich here along with a nice cold beer. Got in out of the heat to watch a nice soccer game. Service was great.

This space is amazing for both private events and a casual evening hanging out! We threw an art grant fundraiser here and it was a huge success thanks to the fantastic bar staff and management!! Many many thanks to the fantastic humans at the Monarch,...we will be back to host another event in the future!

I was at a poetry launch here in October and ended up experiencing both the lower level event space bar and the upper level pub space. Both were enjoyable for their respective purposes. The power level space was basically a mid-sized performance venue with...a small side bar that was able to provide a few tasty beers while the poetry launch was happening. The space had character and reasonably good acoustics. The upper pub space seemed like your typical community local with a fairy friendly vibe and some OK beers available. I’d go back to either again without hesitation.
