The restaurant is situated in the basement of the Flatiron Building. Be aware that parking in the area is all paid and the spots are quite small, which means there's a high chance of getting your car door dinged. I recommend taking public transport or arranging a ride instead; it will save you stress, especially with so many pedestrians around, including kids and dogs, given its proximity to St. Lawrence Market. Once you enter the Flatiron Building, you'll find the restaurant down a set of well-worn concrete stairs, which adds a unique charm to the experience. The ambiance is really nice post-renovation. Although it's in the basement, there are large windows on both the north and south sides that let in plenty of natural light. They offer various seating options, including booths and hybrid booth-table arrangements, creating a comfy and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the small nachos with spicy beef, while my dining companion opted for the burger with goat cheese, no bun, and fries. I was pleased with my choice of nachos. I was surprised by the generous portion—definitely not small! They were excellently done, with crispy chips smothered in a lot of cheese. The spicy beef was a fantastic addition, adding the perfect kick. The only downside was that the guacamole, salsa, and sour cream were poured on top, which made it quite messy and a bit difficult to eat. It didn't look very appetizing either. As for the burger, my friend absolutely loved it! She said she would order it again in a heartbeat, and it looked and smelled amazing. The staff were outstanding. Everyone was incredibly attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Even if the food had been mediocre (which it definitely wasn't), I would come back just because of how great the staff were. I will definitely be returning. A big thumbs up and strong recommendations!
Located in the basement of The Gooderham Building, The Flatiron is pretty much what you would expect from a Firkin-esque Pub. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Spuds $12). This was a classic poutine with a spicy twist. In addition to your standard poutine ingredients, there were also spicy 'buffalo-style ' chicken fingers drizzled with a creamy blue cheese sauce. It was delicious! I washed it down with a cold $5 pint of Creemore. The service was prompt and friendly.
Awesome late lunch. My friend and I decided to have pub food and a drink on a Monday. The service was good, attentive, fast, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food itself was good (at least mine was) but my friend's butter chicken pie was dry. I found the food in general was a bit too salty for my taste but I am sensitive to it however, my plain and simple burger was delish! It was hot, juicy (not greasy), lots of flavour and the perfect bun! I would definitely visit again in the future!
Great location average food. What can I say? It is a Firkin so the food is mediocre at best. Great patio and great location though.
