Taverna Mercatto - Toronto

Restaurant is located in a great location close to CN Tower. The food has smaller servings for the price. The prices are on the high end. The food tasted fine but wasn't overly impressed.

First, this is a restaurant/bar with a great vibe. On ine hand it is a little noisy inside, on the other, it has a great patio. The services is quick, but not overbearing. The food is the star. We had salads and pasta. Fresh greens, lightly dressed, very flavourful are a great way to start. The pasta was superb. Orrichetti with sausage & rapini, linguini with seafood.....both were very well prepared and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

We went to Taverna Mercatto before a Blue Jays game one evening with another couple. The atmosphere is good and it's a nice space. The food was good but not fabulous. They really don't have a large selection of gluten free items either. I had the beets to start, which were good, and a salad with 2 octopus skewers on it, since the octopus appetizer has gluten (pasta) in it. The octopus was miniscule and was extremely dry and very disappointing. My husband said his pasta was ok and i'm told the pizza and the arctic char were good, but again, not great. Service was very good and very attentive, notwithstanding that it was very busy. We'll try it again sometime.

We went to Taverna due to its proximity to the Skydome before a Blue Jays game. We found the place to be energetic. The food was very good but the portions could have been a little bigger. Our server was attentive and the service was fast.

Еда - обычная итальянская. Паста ничем не выдающаяся, хотя и неплохая. Порции вдвое меньше стандартных - наверное место обязывает? Официанты очень предупредительны, обслуживание отличное. Вид с террасы - на прибрежные небоскребы, неспешно прогуливающихся людей - по-своему замечательный.
