Przekaż informację zwrotnąSushi Maido is a very small Japanese restaurant, perhaps about 20 seats. It is easy to miss tucked away on Bloor Street. Inside is a peaceful spot where good sushi and sashimi are served promptly by very pleasant people. If you can get a seat, prepare for a relaxing and satisfying meal.Sadly, one TV - and because one of their walls is a mirror, it is effectively two TVs. It is hard to find a place to sit where the TV is not staring you in the face. If they took that out, the restaurant would be truly perfect.
We were looking for a quick Japanese meal in the Annex and stumbled on Maido. Friendly and quick service. The food was good and good value. Our bento boxes were under $10 each. Recommended.
I'd been looking for a new, good, affordable Japanese restaurant in a central location since my favourite Queen St. W. haunt closed last year. Before attending a concert at Trinity-St. Paul's church across the street, I decided to take a chance and check out Sushi Maido, one of at least 15 Japanese/Japanese-fusion eateries on the Bloor St. West strip between Spadina and Bathurst, and I was not disappointed. They have a large menu, including some yummy-sounding lunch specials starting at $5.99/$6.99. I opted for my perennial favourite, the shrimp tempura lunch, which clocked in at $9 -- two large tempura shrimp + four large tempura vegetables, a generous bowl of miso soup, rice, salad, fried spring roll with spicy sauce, and half an orange. The cooked portions of the tempura boxed lunch (like a bento) came hot, delicious, and cooked to order -- and reached my table within minutes. I think I inhaled my lunch! I'd go back there in a heartbeat. The service was highly competent and polite. They also have a variety of sushi and sashimi, and many other choices; their take-out menu is impressive, and offers a discount. Definitely worth visiting.
This place has the freshest sushi I have ever tasted in Toronto! The variety is great, the service is very friendly, attentive and accommodating. It is small and gets busy at times. They do have take out. They are very close to the Spadina Subway station and the University of Toronto (within 5min walking distance). Will definitely recommend it to my family & friends. And will be back for some more fresh sushi!
We ordered spicy bulkoki, crazy maki and vegetables maki. All of them were great and pretty impressive. Prices are very reasonable. It's a small place so will not work for large groups. Staff are friendly and attentive. Will visit again.
