South St. Burger - Toronto

Food: I had the True North 4 oz burger with fries. Both were delicious. Atmosphere: Clean and lively restaurant with decent customers. Service: Meh. It's a fast food joint so they give fast food service: clueless and slightly hostile. I may return.

When you see the word grilled, you expect a delicious food, instead, these burgers were sort of dry and salty. Fries were better, though they were salty too, and by that I mean you could see the sprinkled salt all over the place!The area and washroom were as clean as expected and there is free wifi for those addicts who can't spend a minute without it :)Overall, it is not somewhere that I would return to if I want to dine out.

We were downtown and stopped for lunch. My kids loved the idea of choosing the ingredients of your hamburguer, so we ended up returning more times. The sandwiches are really tasty.

I had the 4.0 oz Mushroom and Swiss combo. Needless-to-say (from the title of this review) it was substandard. I hope that this was a one-off experience and the other burgers / other SS Burgers are better.

We always enjoy a South Street Burger, though it's a treat, because it's not the cheapest meal. The toppings are nice, and the burgers are tasty and healthier than the average fast food fare. My husband loves that he can order a beer with his burger and that this location has a great patio in the summer months. My stepdaughter also loves the burgers (she's hard to please) and loves the new soda fountain machines. We'd recommend this place to anyone.
