I wasn't exactly sure we're to take them so we just walk around Front Street area /Esplanade and saw this pub. I have somehow forgotten Scotland Yard is in the area. In summary, we all had an amazing dinner and drinks !!! I of course ordered bangers and mash. Love it - it was yummy. Fish and chips was amazing too.
We went here 2 times during our 4 day stay in Toronto. The inside is a little dark, but overall it has some good pub flair. We did prefer sitting outside though.Food was very good, service was friendly and quick. Would come back here anytime.
It was a perfect day for a patio with colleagues at lunch. We decided to head to the esplanade to find a nice pub patio to soak up some sun and get a bite to eat. We saw Scotland Yard and thought it looked decent. Also, they had 3 staff on their patio – a good sign for a speedy lunch, or so one would think. A group had just left a table, so we asked the hostess if we could sit there, and she said it was not a problem, and that she would be by in just a second to clear it. The 10 minutes it took for her to finally come back and clear our table should have been a sign. We ordered our drinks and food right away, taking advantage of finally being paid attention to. We were starving, and many tables were empty, so we assumed the kitchen would be quick with our order. Another assumption we should not have made. It took 40 minute for the kitchen to produce our lunches. Meanwhile glasses were empty and the wait staff never came to ask if we would like refills. Our lunches were finally brought out, all except one. We were told the missing lunch would be brought out in a second. We asked for the bill when the majority of lunches had been placed at the table. As we were on a time crunch, and starving we shared our fries with the poor coworker with the missing lunch, and devoured ours. We finished our meals and the missing hamburger was still not produced and the waitress had not come back with the bills. Finally one of us went inside in search of the burger. It had clearly not been punched in as it was still on the oven. Instead of offering our starving coworker a drink on the house, they made him pay for the drink We begged for our bills, paid and left. My coworker ended up buying a lunch at Longos. I will never return. I ordered a Cajun chicken club and it was void of flavor, apparently the fish and chips were soggy. I repeat, I will never return. Bad food. Horrendous service. I almost wish it had rained so we did not have to have that agonizing experience.
A very pleasant bar with friendly and helpful staff. Just called in for a drink. The choice of beers was extensive with some good offers on different brands. The offers are constantly updated. The inside of the Pub is on British traditional lines with a lovely outdoor patio. Definitely recommend this place.
Kind of time warp pub decor from the 80's with some flat screen TV's thrown in. Standard pub food. Wait staff competent but uninspired. OK list of beers. My guess is it's for 905ers waiting to catch the GO train back home and tourists looking for a low risk dining option when the other venues along the Esplanade fill up. Ready for a refresh,
