We ate at Sampaguita Village recently. Our order was taken wrong. The cashier even blames us why we didn't ask the waitress about the error. She even said for sure we know the count of spring roll we ordered for combo. What???!! Are you kidding...me? Even the count of pork bbq we don't even KNOW as soon it was placed on our table to eat, We just asked why so much food and the other waitress said we can take it home, it was all part of the order. When we went to pay we were severely OVERCHARGED. The waitress told us she confirmed our order twice, which she didn't. Unless we paid the full bill, the cashier said the waitress would be charged for it. They did bring our price down to order, but took back ALL LEFTOVERS with the exception of a few noodles, but they even removed all the SHRIMPS from the leftover dish first. Food is okay just make sure they get your order right, will save a lot of EMBARASSMENT at the cash. THIS IS NOT A PLACE WE WILL BE BRINGING OUT BUSINESS AGAIN. HIGH END RESTAURANT PRICING BUT LOW END SURROUNDING. TAKE A LOOK AT THE MENU PRICE BEFORE YOU GO. Just fried rice alone is $9.50 plus tax.
I have eaten several times in this restaurant, and every time I am am amazed by the food. I have also eaten in several other filipino restaurants, but this is by far the best! I am not filipino, but I live on the philippines for a...decade, and so I know what is good filipino eating. the ambiente is zero, but the people come there for eating, not the device. filipinos flock here from all over the opposite of toronto. they rate it as the best!
They love this place, its little one, a little rough around the edges, but some that is ingenious and it is cooked right next to them. portions are great and the filipino staff is so friendly and eager to serve them.
From the moment you enter inside the restaurant you can definitely smell different kinds of cooking,.serving crew mostly are bunch of high school students working during weekends with lack of proper food handling knowledge, even the line chef cooks do not wear proper chef...hat or baseball caps when cooking. i have doubts if toronto public health inspector will visit this place during the weekend they might be in trouble then..but food are taste good that's why this restaurant is always full during weekends. and restaurant owner have good PR or public relation with its customer.
