Everything was delicious and appeared to be very fresh. Next time, I would likely stick to ordering their sushi as the tacos were not particularly special. The interior design is modern, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for a lovely dinner with friends or a date.
The restaurant had a chic and sophisticated ambiance, with friendly and attentive staff. The seafood was fresh, and the sushi rolls were expertly crafted with just the right amount of rice. The spicy sauce was delicious, and the special rolls had crispy tempura flakes that added a nice texture. Although the prices were a bit higher, the exceptional service and high quality of the food made it worth it.
The restaurant offers a nice variety of sushi roll options. I highly recommend trying the Panko Oysters. However, I was not impressed by the scallop ceviche, as it seemed like only 2 scallops cut into 4 pieces. The decor is charming, but the presence of fruit flies was bothersome. Unfortunately, the soft shell crab is no longer available on the menu. The drinks selection is great with many options to choose from. In my opinion, their sister restaurant, The Haam, is much better, especially for their tacos and sushi.
My party went to SAKU for Summerlicious on a Tuesday evening. It was quite packed and there was a lineup in the doorway with customers on the side waiting to be called. At first the waitresses would greet those in line and let them know the wait time, afterward it took a couple minutes to flag down a waitress and I was a bit worried as I had a reservation and did not want to be skipped. After being seated down the waitress explained to us how the Summerlicious menu worked and we were given a couple minutes to decide what to order. They did reconfirm our order after we placed the order which was appreciated.I ordered the BC Tuna Salmon Tataki Salad which was really delicious and the fish tasted fresh. The yuzu pepper vinaigrette added a really good kick to each bite. Each member of my party ordered one special roll tacos. I would say I enjoyed the special roll (Ocean Dream) much more than the bulgogi taco. I ordered an Oreo Churros as my dessert and was a bit disappointed in the taste of it to end off the night. If given another opportunity I would have gone with either the Cheesecake or Dorayaki Sandwich.Atmosphere wise it is quite busy with moderate noise. The lightning dimmed midway through our meal so it was a bit hard to see even with all the deco light up. I would advise to be extra cautious going down the stairs to the bathroom as it looked like a dark tunnel going down with light at the bottom.
Upbeat vibe sushi place. Very good food. The bulgogi taco was particularly good so was the roasted eggplant. Both are recommended. Had two of the vegetarian rolls, Rocky Mountain and Peter Pan. They are a bit similar both having yam, but prepared quite differently. Very nice presentation and quite tasty too. The rest of of our sushi selection was quite typical and on par with most other moderately priced sushi places. No complaints here. A good place for a nice dinner with friendsDrop me a comment or a like if you found this helpful.
