This is not the typical Vietnamese no frills restaurant you'll find in any neighbourhood.
During a visit to Toronto, we wanted to eat something fresh after too many restaurant meals that were ponderously rich. Four of us sat down in this simple establishment and were wowed by its delicious veggie and chicken rolls. There was plenty of choice. Each rice paper roll (raw, not fried) was stuffed to perfection with fresh ingredients and herbs. The dipping sauces were superb.Staff was friendly, and there was a steady stream of people coming in for takeout. I like the quiet simplicity of this restaurant and the care they take to give customers fresh and healthy food.
I cannot really tell you how the pho tasted, because I am a vegetarian, and the supposedly vegetarian pho I ordered was clearly filled with chicken. Also the rolls I ordered were not accompanied by any sauce despite indications on the menu.
I eat mostly vegetarian, so I have only tried their vegetarian rolls, but each one is amazing and different. I have tried the tofu roll, avocado roll, sweet potato roll and Japanese pumpkin roll. They are chewy and savory with herbs and noodles and whatever main ingredient you choose. They come with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. The food always comes quickly and the owner is nice. Unlike most Toronto restaurants, the washroom is on the first floor, which is convenient is you don't feel like navigating steps. I have been here a number of times and if it has been a while I start craving these rolls and know it is time for a visit. The price is reasonable too!
