The atmosphere has a cozy, family-owned feel, but with a modern twist that appeals to a new generation. It's a fantastic spot and I wish I lived closer. The standout dish isn't even the chicken, it's how they prepare their potatoes. It's been a while since I've enjoyed Portuguese chicken this much. There are other great restaurants in the city, but they usually excel in one aspect and lack in others. In terms of pricing, they may be about 20% more expensive than similar options a few blocks away, but the quality justifies the cost.
0/5, yes....Never again. I never order sauce in chicken as it makes it soggy. I add it later. What went wrong....Takeout in Uber eats and the options for sauce allow you to choose the sauce or choose the sauce in the side. I asked for sauce on the side for both orders, but it arrived with the sauce on the chicken. My wife is absolutely disgusted and I am trying to make it better. Even with my oven preheated before you arrived (I always add takeout chicken to the oven to crispen it up when delivered....which usually takes 5 min), 30 min later in the oven and it's still soggy chicken. Learn how to read instructions or close up shop. I won't return and I hope others reading this review won't waste time and money ordering from you.
Despite advertising their Saturday hours of business as being open on a Saturday (1pm-8pm according to their website), it was totally closed and not reopening for over an hour at the time of our visit (3:23pm, see picture of sign stuck on door). Very disappointing, waste of both our gas and time making a 17km round trip for nothing. Can 't exactly recommend this!
The chicken was tender and moist, and the potatoes were packed with flavor. I opted for takeout and although the restaurant is located in an industrial area, it felt slightly questionable due to the slow time of day. However, the man working there was friendly and eager to assist. It seemed like he appreciated having someone to chat with. The shop was kept exceptionally clean.
Came back because the chicken was the bomb and this time had the pork. It was very good although would be better as a sandwich. The sauce for it was impeccable. Dipped my shrimp crocheted in it and it was very nice. The batter was crisp And tasty. The filling was a little mushy but no big deal. ClAssic rice and potatoes rounded out the meal well. $25 for everything with leftovers was good value. Gonna go for the steak next. Love places that force you to go back. And I will. Over and over again.
