This is in the latter category, and a bit pricey compared to some alternatives nearby, but the quality is pretty good. We ended up spending about $40 for what would probably cost half that at another place nearby, though the food was good.
I visited the place with my wife today and i can easily say this is going to be one of our favourite stops. We frequently walk through this part of young street together in the evening since we live close by. We've ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich, char grilled kafta sandwich, kibbeh and a side order of french fries. We enjoyed every single bite. Honestly speaking, the place is highly recommended.
After going to the Chihuly exhibit we when looking for a place for lunch. We happened upon this small restaurant and thought we would give it a try. There was a bit of a line up - always a good sign. The food was really good, fresh and well presented. Lunch for a Chicken Shawarma bowl and the appetizer plate was 15.00 and more than enough for 2 of us. Favourful and plentiful. The owner chef was a breathe of fresh air- He really cared about what we thought about the food.I don't often go into the city but wouldn't hesitate to recommend or to return.Great food for very little money and a chef who cares about his food and his customers. Well done!
On a business trip, I stopped in here for convenience, along with a group of fellow visits to Toronto. The place is nothing fancy, but the person helping us (I assume the owner) was kind, helpful, and willing to make substitutions. The food was good, not greasy or too salty, and it satisfied my group. You wouldn't bring anyone here to impress them, but if you are looking for some solid Mediterranean food, this place satisfies.
A group of six people wandered into this unassuming spot, hungry for some food. The menu had the typical range of sKafta, Kababs, rice, etc. The prices were very good, the servings large, and the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time (about 10 - 12 minutes). The person taking care of us, I think the owner, was very friendly and accommodating of requests for slight changes in the dishes. This is not a fancy place, and you wouldn't take someone here to impress them. However, if you've had a long day and need some good healthy food, this is a decent spot. If I were a Toronto local, I would frequent this place. I
