Locale Mercatto - Toronto

We were a party of 3, visiting the city for a girls shopping day. We chose Locale Mercatto for their proximity to the Eaton Centre/HBC. We made reservations the day before to ensure we got a table. We intentionally didn't want a fast food/chain restaurant experience. The experience was PERFECT! The restaurant is fresh, modern, overlooks Bay Street with a wall of windows. It's an open kitchen style. The experience is high end/ fine dining lunch. All 3 of us had the salmon. AMAZING . Highly recommended!

We visited Locale Mercatto after walking around the area on our first night in Toronto. We were looking for something a bit off the beaten track and different, rather than the big commercial restaurants. Lovely decor, feels relaxed and very friendly and attentive waiting staff. The food was lovely - my husband had the beef brisket burger with chips, I had the daily special of home made meatballs on pasta. Really tastey food; only reason for not giving a full five stars was that it was a little pricey. $24 for a plate of pasta - albeit it came with some garlic bread! - seems on the expensive side (I am comparing to the UK, so perhaps I am a little naive when it comes to Toronto prices!). Overall, enjoyed it and would return but feel if you got a little more for your money they would be on to a total winner!

Went with a business colleague and found Mercatto just ok. Server was nice enough but not extremely informative. I had the lasagna which wasn't anything special while my colleague had penne that under delivered. Price seemed a little rich for what we got and I suspect I won't return. Sorry but too many other options in the area to return...

Excellent food, server that seated us showed poor seating choices but changed tables when this was pointed out. Waiter was very good. Recommend the ravioli and Pine nut tart. Decor used to be much nicer but food is still good.

Renovated and new menu. Small over priced starters. Had a tuna which was nothing special. No one bothered to bring us bread but did to other tables. Lamb main course over cooked. Really poor service and noisy place
