Lee Chen Asian Bistro - Toronto

I am giving this restaurant no stars, not because I sampled the food, but because they refused us service based on my blind companion's guide dog. The hostess told us they had a no pets policy at the restaurant. When my friend pointed out that she was blind and that this was not a pet, but rather a service dog, in addition to my pointing out that this was against the law, we were still refused service. when my friend asked to speak with the manager, the hostess left for a few minutes, came back and told us they would allow us to eat here. The manager did not come to speak with us. We made the decision to leave and spend our money elsewhere, but as we were leaving, the hostess thanked us for obeying their policies. This place should be fined for this type of behaviour.

This place is so bigger on the inside!Very clean, and fairly quiet atmosphere (depending on the other diners).Generous meal portions, although a tad bit pricey for what we are used to (perhaps average for T.O?). Great service, although we did have to wave someone down for the cheque.However, if we were in the area again and needed somewhere we knew had decent food, we'd come back.

In the city for a quick visit and went with a friend to Lee Chen. Nice venue in an average sort of way. Soups are very good. Starters - spring rolls - were very disappointing, lots of roll but little "spring". Mains, ribs and General Tao chicken - well, I wouldn't recommend either. The former were over-priced, bland and when we asked if we could have an additional book choy (to make one apiece) we were told it was a garnish only and would cost extra! The latter was so unlike what we were used to; and we have tried it in many different places; that I don't think it should be called General Tao - it was more lightly sautéed chicken on a bed of onions with very old chilies scattered over it. In spite of the herbs it was tasteless. I must say the steamed rice was good. Service was poor. I didn't feel as though I was appreciated as a customer. I would recommend this place for soup but not for much else.

Went there before a concert and had great service. Quick and efficient and great food! The soup dumplings were amazing. We will be going back.
