The waitstaff at this restaurant were rude and inattentive. They neglected to check on me during my meal and did not fulfill my order for Har Gow. When I attempted to inform a waitress, she seemed surprised and irritated before walking away without addressing the issue. I had to flag down my original waiter multiple times to have the missing item removed from my bill, which he did without offering any apologies. Additionally, I was charged for hot tea that I did not drink. The spare ribs were satisfactory, Sui Mai was average, but the rice noodle filled with shrimp was bland. I have experience in preparing dim sum and know that seasoning the shrimp is essential for flavor. I typically do not rely on Sriracha sauce, but in this case, it was necessary to enhance the tasteless dish. Despite being a generous tipper, I felt that the service and food at this restaurant did not warrant the $17 tip I left on a $16.39 bill. This experience was disappointing and I regret wasting my time and money on dining here. I will not be returning.
Delicious food, rude service. Every Dim Sum item we ordered was delicious. However, our waiter was unsmiling, abrupt, walks away before we can ask him additional questions info.
This restaurant is one of our top picks in the city for dim sum. It's perfect if you're downtown and don't want to make the trek to Markham. The menu has a great selection of fresh, well-made dishes. Unlike some other restaurants, this place isn't as hectic, so you can enjoy a nice atmosphere and have a conversation while you dine on delicious dim sum.
I was pretty happy with my culinary experience here. The food came out quite quickly and the service was very good. I really need to recommend the chicken feet and BBQ pork pastries. The chicken feet were in a very sweet and hearty sauce that made the dish so addicted. The pig dough was just loaded with hearty sweet Char siu filling. The pastry just melted in my mouth. That was a personal favorite of me. Kwan Dim Sum is not another restaurant because of its interior. The room was clean and its furnishings are very noticeable.
