If you don't give her tips, she will charge you tips. But this service let me feel that I really don't want to give the tips!
I make sure to eat here every time I'm in Toronto. Food is consistently good and portions are generous. Service could be friendlier, but they work hard and fast.
I've been eating at King's Noodle House for years, every time I get to Toronto. It's not upscale, they take cash only, and they don't take reservations, so bear all that in mind. But if you're up for an authentic Asian meal, this is the place. If you have to wait for a table (which is usually not long), you do so beside a fascinating cook station where a guy turns out bowl after bowl of steaming food. My go-to order is a bowl of noodle soup with pork, a side plate of steamed bok choy with oyster sauce, and a Tsingtao beer. And while the menu is long and descriptive, looking around at what other diners are eating is another way to see what's on offer. The problem is deciding what of all the great-looking stuff to choose.
Extremely disappointed by quality of half a roasted duck we picked up over the counter along our way: it both tasted and looked like menu left-overs from other patrons, at CAD 16.90. Totally overpriced, dismal quality - they won't see us again!
We saw the delicious looking ducks hanging in the window and wanted to buy half a duck for take away. Firstly, the cashier was extremely rude and unfriendly and did not clearly indicate the price. When we opened the box with the duck we noticed that all the pieces of meat the cashier gave us were what looked like garbage from the restaurant and wasn't even half a duck. Totally ripped us off, paid too much for the waste materials of not even half a duck, would under no circumstances recommend this place to anyone.
