My husband and I were disappointed by food prepared by the kitchen. For thirty years, we either bought take-out or ate in, and even got to know some of the staff fairly well.In January 2017, we took out three dishes and were disappointed even though we believe the BBQ department is still good as before. Our three dishes:1. Special fried rice: it had hardly any ingredients, as if half of them had been left out. Rating: C-2. Scrambled eggs with bitter melon: only a few small pieces of melon were used, and substituted with mostly lettuce. The melon also had not been blanched and was very bitter. Rating: C3. Fried wheat noodles with shrimps and greens: we ordered rice noodles, not wheat noodles. We wonder why the restaurant could not deliver something so simple. The dish had enough ingredients, but the wrong kind of noodles. Rating: C+The male servers also seemed stressed out, hard-of-hearing, and dismissive. It was hard for us to leave a tip and that was even before we started eating the food at home!We wonder if someone could enlighten us as to why Wok and Roast that we have liked for thirty years has gone downhill, and what patrons can do to help.Thank you.
Ka Ka Lucky Seafood is now called 'Wok and Roast Chinese BBQ'. It has a big new menu and rebuilt washrooms---all modern and clean. Local folks eat here always have. The price point is extremely reasonable eg. Rice with 2 meats= $9 tax included. I am done. The end.
Have been eating here for years. The food is good. The service is quick. My wife usually orders the shrimp fried rice and I order the beef with snow peas and egg noodles. The portions are quite large and the price is quite reasonable compared to what you pay at some other Chinese restaurants. We also order the wonton soup which we have found until now to be the best one we have eaten. When you eat in you get free tea also. This restaurant has a high volume of customers. We come from Etobicoke close to Mississauga to eat the food here because the ones out here don't compare. The shrimp fried rice has a large amount of shrimp in it while the one across the street from us only puts 8 shrimp in their fried rice. This is a place not to come for the looks but the Chinese food
I always enjoy the curry chicken on rice or curry beef brisket. Today, the plate I received had a lot of rice but literally no chicken or onions. When I pointed it out they took my plate back and returned with the normal portion. I was very happy with the service as always. Thank you
