EVOO Ristorante - Toronto

Excellent dining experience in this Italian theme restaurant. Very diverse menu and we tried the pasta special of linguine and lobster in a light tomato sauce. Outstanding! One of our party had the salmon which he thoroughly enjoyed but the restaurant had a black cod special that night which is nice change in seafood. Our server (Harry) was very attentive and allowed us plenty of time to converse before ordering our meal. Very expansive wine menu but can order by glass and half litre. Would return soon.

Drop in without a reservation and they accommodated us within less than twenty minutes on a very busy Saturday. The food was incredible good and delicious, hands down one of the best restaurants on Avenue Road (or Toronto for that matter). The pasta and lobster ravioli is to die for (only 5-6 pieces, but worth it). I think we had the chance to talk to each worker, from the hostess to the guy cleaning up the tables. They are all very friendly and simply want to make conversation. They are all nice and want to make sure you had a great time with impeccable food. Thanks for all your wonderful service and the delicious food. Definitely worth a detour. Can't wait to come back. Price is fair for location and quality of the food. Enjoy:)

We spent a long weekend, with friends, in Toronto and had an opportunity to sample three restaurants for dinner. The other two don't matter because they do not warrant a review. My mother told me that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.EVOO, however, was a definite winner. The appetizers and entrees were delicious and I mean all that were served, not just mine. I would have been as happy with any of the choices that my friends made, as I was with mine. The server was sharp and engaged.This was a first class eating experience.

This restaurant has a cool vibe, but the food is just okay, nothing more. To start, while the service is friendly, it's inadequate. Our waitress was clearly stretched too far as she forgot drink orders and was missing in action much of the night. More wait staff are definitely needed. Waiting way too long for water, bread, plates to be cleared is highly annoying, especially when you're paying quite a bit and expecting a fine dining experience. While the friendly owner pitched in and tried to help out with the service lapses, it just wasn't enough. The food: bread basket is sad. I say if you can buy the bread at Loblaws it has no place in a bread basket. We expect much better in Toronto. The hummus on the side was good. The special Italian burrata cheese appetizer was a real let down. The waitress described this special creamy Italian burrata. What we got was something akin to a medium poached egg in texture and it was completely tasteless. We know what fresh Italian burrata is supposed to be and this wasn't it by a long shot. Fish was prepared well and we enjoyed it. The zuppe di pesce was so so; the veal milanese was mediocre at best. Pasta was good. Desserts were ok, again nothing special. Valet parking was great. This restaurant needs a few significant tweaks and it could be great. Right now, it's over priced for the quality of the dining experience and the calibre of food and preparation. So many other great expensive Italian restaurants to enjoy it Toronto.
