This restaurant was the highlight of our foodie trip from Vancouver to Toronto, even though we had spent three times as much at another restaurant two nights prior that turned out to be overhyped. The dishes were unique and beautifully presented. We will definitely be adding Canoe to our next foodie adventure in Toronto.
My friend and I had a fantastic meal at Canoe Toronto with exceptional food and service. Unfortunately, we picked a night with poor weather so we couldn't fully appreciate the stunning view! I imagine it would be breathtaking on a clear night. I started with the scallop raviolo, which was delicious but a bit small for the price. It was a large ravioli in a flavorful broth, but I could have definitely eaten more than one piece. My friend had the bluefish tuna tartare, which she said was delicious and a more satisfying portion. For the main course, I had the fillet and cheek, which was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. My friend enjoyed the Braised Pork dish. For dessert, we shared a rich and beautiful chocolate tart. The wine selection was good, but a wider variety of red wines by the glass would be nice. We were recommended a bottle of German riesling spatlese that perfectly matched my girlfriend's taste. Our server, Nicholas, was excellent - the perfect combination of friendliness and professionalism. As a young couple, we sometimes feel overlooked at other upscale restaurants, but Nicholas made us feel welcome and well taken care of. I would highly recommend Canoe and look forward to returning in the future.
Excelente Restaurant great food very good services and a great view We celebrated a birthday and it was very special
Unfortunately, my surf and lawn meal did not match the menu description on Saturday night. I managed to get a bar seat south with a good view of the lake. Smoke and mirror cocktail was delicious. Tomatoes and crabs starter was tasty, although I... to ask for a spoon (3 tiny triangles of Flatbread, which were not similar Bretzel grissini, were not enough to shovel everything! But the so-called 35-day old striploin steak and lobster were abysmal. Pages of potatopave and pure carrots were not advertised as on the menu. Should the sea have been salad and ramp butter and Boulangere!!! Why do they serve banquets instead of the usual menu? Hey. Steak was tough and chewing. My jaw hurts. At least it tastes grass. But not old taste. Lobster was covered in a thick layer of bread crumbs. Underneath was the smallest amount of lobster meat, overcooked. So terrible. Do not add bread and gluten on a menu that does not say it! Server was also the bartender, so I'm getting fine service. Canoe is downhill, sad.
At the bar, I had a seat facing the kitchen. I got a la carte because I didn't like several of the items on the tasting menu. Everything that I had was excellent. The S'mores Foie Gras and Gin Cured Duck Beast both caught my...attention as being particularly inventive and delicious. I got one of their Canadian cheeses in place of dessert. By the glass, they offered several Canadian dessert wines. I liked the two that I tried. I explored the area after dinner and took in the beautiful views.
