Indian street food often tastes different when adapted for Western palates, but this restaurant managed to strike a good balance. We ordered dishes such as Salli Chicken, Chicken Wings, Pav Bhaji, and Masala Tea. I won't compare the taste to what I am used to back home, as it wouldn't be fair. However, I appreciate that they adjusted the spice levels to cater to Canadian tastes. This restaurant is a great option in the commercial area, where cafes, sandwich shops, and fast food joints are often the only choices. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a try.
I would give the food 4 stars and the service 3.5 stars. I ordered the veggie curry with rice, roti, and salad for take-out dinner. The food was delicious and had unique flavors not typically found in other restaurants in the city. However, I felt that the portion sizes were a bit small, and there was a long wait for my order. Additionally, my order was incorrect. The management later contacted me to rectify the mistake, which I appreciated.
Bombay Street Foods (BSF) showcases traditional street foods found in Mumbai with all dishes homemade using mainly local ingredients. The open concept restaurant is bright, full of charm, and transforms customers to the old Irani style cafe’s of Mumbai. An intimate feel is achieved with family pictures of the owners Seema and Amreen Omar, as well as their trips to Mumbai on the walls.
Nice indian taste street food. At the same time dirty place. Bit pricy as well. Still can visit one time.Chaat and pav bhaji worth trying..
