Upon hearing good reviews from colleagues we decided to try this restaurant during summerlious. Initially we were seated at the front of the restaurant and the noise level was so incredible loud that we asked to be seated elsewhere which they accommodated. Upon being seated...three ladies beside us commented that they too asked to be moved due to the noise our table was small but intimate and a lot less noisy. We had ordered our bottle of wine and food already from our previous seating and mentioned this to the waitstaff that we had already ordered honestly it was about 20 30 minutes before we received our bottle of wine and then another 20 minutes before our added appetizer which was not part of summerlious. The added order was the cheese tray which was very good which we both agreed they also tasked us if we wanted some bread with our meal wow $8.00 for the grilled bread and $20.00 for the cheese tray. We ordered from the summerlious menu the shrimp appetizer which was fairly good and the rock fish was also ok (small portions and no added extras but was fairly good) the desert we ordered was the cheese cake which was ricotta cheese and not too bad. Unfortunately tHe service was totally frantic which did not add to the ambiance of romantic dinner we could not believe the bustle and hurriedly staff running around definitely not enough staff. Finally we asked for our bill and upon reviewing we were charged more than twice the amount for the wine we ordered. We called the staff over to correct and was told they would of picked this up and refunded us at the end of the night (right). Our bill was adjusted. All in all even with the summerlious menu our bill was over $250.00 dollars for a mediocre meal I really was so disappointed as I heard good reviews in the past. Sadly the objective of summerlious is to get people to try new restaurants so they will come back again We will not be back nor recommend this restaurant as there are way too many restaurants in Toronto that offer better food for a more reasonable price. Out of 10 I would rate 6.5 where’s my husband a 5.
This had a money grabbing feel about it without any indication whatsoever that you would get anything substantial in return. From what we could see the major selling point was the wood fired oven in the main dining area (which only had one table occupied...! which is no big deal and certainly no justification for the costs displayed. We have a bigger wood fired oven than that on display and I suspect we churn out better quality food than what was being offered to us that night. Very disappointed although we were advised by the locals to stay well clear.
30+years rockin Queen and Walnut. Noce delights with an evolving menu that reinvents and evolves staying fresh and on trend. The place was packed with the trio of rooms accommodating everyone from groups quite large and small to couples on dates or just out for...a night. Millennials to long-time clients. The place is welcoming with a buzzy vibe and great interesting food. Many plates are cooked over the large open wood burning fire. Delicious raw plates. Smoky meats. Edgy cocktails. Attentive service. A glamorous night on Queen West!
Very pricy for an average Italian restaurant. it doesn't matter to me if I pay a large meal, but it must be on the spot, in three words: it is not. service was on point, terrace super sweet.
