Caffe Universita - Torino

We were too early for the Aperitivo but it was being made ready and looked better than the others we saw later and with some lovely looking cheeses etc. I tried a Bichelin? Local mocha drink which was nice and my wife also thought the hot chocolate was one of the best she had had. Nice decor and a very friendly helpful waitress, we will try and go back if we can.

Bit of old charm in the setting. Service a bit abrupt. Kitchen bit run down. Buffet marginal but good if on the run. Found enough to satisfy our palate. Cash only.

For just 12 euros, I spent over an hour eating from a varied buffet and enjoying a very good spritz. The three young ladies on duty at the door were lovely welcoming, helpful and friendly and even willingly provided me with some useful information about local tourist attractions. The street is busy and noisy but you don't really notice the traffic sitting inside the wide pedestrian arcade. Be Warned, you need to pay cash.

Very good service. we were able to get ready for fast room for 4 people and also otherwise the service was very polite and courteous. the buffet of local and Italian specialties was rich and was regularly filled without overwhelming. priced were 15€ for buffet including drinks absolutely in order.

Maybe this is a place targeted for tourists, but even in this case this is not a good “spot” for the Italian food. Quick lunch that starts with 15 mins waiting to be considered by the waitress. We took two “focaccine farcite” that had no taste, average coffee and drinks. At the end the waitress decided to increase 10% the amount of the bill (don’t understand the reason why). Never again.
