Romanoff - Torbay

The restaurant was unhelpful with my dietary requirements and did not make any attempt to accommodate them. I had booked dinner for four nights and the first night was fine with a pasta dish. However, the following nights consisted of tasteless and watery pasta, as well as a mushroom dish that I couldn't eat due to my allergy. When I suggested a simple tweak to the menu, the kitchen staff refused to accommodate me. The service was good on the first night, but deteriorated as the nights went on. The organization was poor, with no system for serving tables and long wait times for everything. There was only one vegetarian option for the evening meal, with no other choices available. Overall, the experience was very unpleasant and I would not dine here again.

We chose to dine at this restaurant during our stay at the hotel for the sake of convenience, as we didn't want to venture out. It turned out to be a great decision, as we thoroughly enjoyed our meals on both evenings. The dishes were well presented, generously portioned, and offered a nice variety. The staff at the restaurant/hotel were excellent and very organized. Breakfasts were also delightful, with plenty of options served to our table efficiently. Reserving a time slot for both dinner and breakfast was necessary, but it worked out seamlessly.

The breakfast menu was enjoyable, with no criticisms. The lunchtime bar meals were also well received. The most noticeable change since our last visit was the increased variety of food offered in the evening.

So good we ate in rather than risk the dubious delights of Torquay. Several meals all good and very good table service from a super team.

Wide choice for breakfast. 6 course evening meal including 4starters, sorbet refresher, 5 mains, 4 deserts, cheeseboard and coffee and mints. Something for everyone.
