Service was good, food was pretty standard for this type of place, nothing bad to say but nothing exceptional to report either. If you're looking for something that's not fish and chips etc this has a bit more choice, nice panini's, party's, etc.
The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and everyone has a cheery disposition. We call in every time we are in Paignton .
I regularly visit The Oggy Oggy shop twice a week during my office break and am never disappointed. My favourite’s are tea cakes and latte, steak pasty, or blackcurrant and apple pasty, all at competitive prices clearly marked. A range of other foods from baked potatoes to Devon cream teas are also available at sensible prices. The manageress and the staff are extremely welcoming ,polite, and obliging. The premise’s are clean and well presented. There is a choice of inside or outside seating. Situated in the heart of the main tourist street it is the place to be for sit in or take away food. As an expat Cornishman it is nice to have the genuine taste of pasties made in Cornwall. A reminder of home. If you don’t visit you are missing one of Paignton’s gems.
We called in for 2 pasties to take away just before closing time. They had nearly sold out, which is always a good sign, but had a good range of items left. We had a Cornish pasty each and at the last moment spotted an apple and blackcurrant pasty which we bought to share. Both sweet and savoury were delicious and well-filled (no air pockets !! . Chunky steak, tatties and swede in the Cornish and a delicious fruity filling in the sweet, both in shortcrust pastry so don't fall apart like certain chain baker's flaky products do.... More expensive then said chain products but worth every penny for a pasty aficionado!
