I have never had a worse takeaway. Congealed plastic tasting mushroom chow mein, pepper/cheap curry powder flavour Thai green curry. The least horrible dish was the Chicken Satay, but even that was reminiscent of Fray Bentos reconstituted substances of indeterminate origin out of a tin. Incredibly disappointing almost certainly reheated, with some of the food (veggies, noodles) tasted so 'old ' we thought we might end up with food poisoning (we didn 't thankfully). Left nearly all of it and ended my birthday meal with marmite on toast.
Food generally tastes fresh some mistakes/delays but always good quality compared to local competition
We had people round and placed a massive order from here. Never having ordered from here, it was a risk and it didn't pan out. Everything is swimming in gravy from the Chinese vegetables, to the chow mein and even the rice. The chicken balls were saturated in oil, and there must have been a special on tinned pineapple because both sweet and sour options we ordered consisted of about 90% of the stuff. Not good at all.
This restaurant serves delicious thick noodles and meaty ribs, making it our favorite place for takeout. We were disappointed when it was closed during the early lockdown, but we're thrilled that Chow Chow is back open now.
We have tried every Chinese restaurant in Tonbridge, and sometimes we have gone back a few times. Tasty Palace used to be our favorite, but then we tried Chow Chow and it is consistently good. The noodles are thick and satisfying, with a generous portion. The chicken balls are filled with plenty of chicken, and the curry is delicious. I always request no peas in my curry, and they always accommodate my request, even though I love peas - I just don't like them in curry.
