River Grill - Tonawanda

Very funny here; great location directly on the niagara river with a magnificent view of the sunset and with the cycle path from the points north and south and with the boat accessible via the river. this is always a hopping bar; it always seems to play live music in the summer months and there is a general tropical oasis feel from the seafood on the menu to the specialties drinks to the decor and light palm tree outside, to the boats that are docked outside. if they are looking for a place to celebrate during summertime, even at a week night, this is a fun place!

My son-in-law has chosen this place and we are all so happy. it is located directly on the niagara river with views of the canada and grand island. the parking lot is very limited and we found the last place, although it was not so busy. it was an exceptionally rainy July day, but no worries they have branded to keep the dinge dry. I had a mojito and they should be sweet, but it wasn't mine. the server was great. I had seen reviews very bad about them. we arrived earlier than our reservation, but as the weather was terrible, it was not a problem. they had a musician who played and singed acoustic guitar. he was very good! my S-i-l enjoyed his birthday lobster. I absolutely loved my baked fish fry. I definitely want to go back, but I'm worried about the parking lot on a beautiful sunny day.

We drove our bikes on the way to buffalo and smelled some amazing fragrances from this restaurant when we came by. determined to stop lunch on the way back tonawanda and so glad we did. friendly server, cold beer, great sandwiches. the filled pfefferhoagie was a dream true. I will try to replicate it at home. my wife had a chicken sandwich with spinach, roasted red paprika and cheese that was also delicious.

Great place! Great staff! Very fresh and delicious seafood in a wonderful location. I will be back.
