I would go back again and again just for their canederli trio, which are the best I 've ever tried without the use of luxury ingredients such as truffle : moist, incredibly tasty they come in three varieties: cheese, beetroot, speck , and lusciously dressed with butter and parmesan. In the course of two visit it was out favourite choice to recover from our long walks in the mountains... , we also tried their soups, an asparagus velouté deeply enriched by finely chopped speck, and a humble leek and potato equally enriched by the Puzzone di Moena cheese. A grilled tosela with polenta and field mushrooms was good although after a while the taste experience begins to be a little dull we preferred another version of the dish with local sausage. A pasta with porcini old style with cream, but not too much was very tasty with a generous amount of the splendid mushrooms obviously preserved given the season, but good quality , and the pasta was nicely cooked. Service is polite and friendly. If you can eat outside, do it as the view is fabulous, but also the inside room in alpine style is cute. Prices are super friendly in view of quality and quantity.
Every time I'm in Primiero I come to this place (see my previous reviews . And I come especially for one dish: their trio of canderli is best I've eaten anywhere (and I've tried many canederli in my life! . It's a rich dish, so make sure you've done some walking in the splendid natural setting of the Val Canali beforehand, and that your dietician isn't looking. All the rest is certainly not bad either. This time we particularly liked a classic salsiccia with polenta and mushrooms. Service is pleasant and kind. Portions are generous, prices are friendly, and as I said the scenery is wonderful eat outside in good weather.
Five well deserved stars, very kind and fantastic place!
After a tough Winter hike started in early morning we thought we deserved the rich, simple and tasty traditional mountain cuisine with a very late lunch at Chalet Piereni. We had yet again our favourite, the fabulous canederli trio. The ingredients they advertise (speck, beetroot, cheese are not there just in perfunctory amounts as so often happens in other places, no, the canederli are packed with them and therefore are full of real, full flavours. Mind you, it 's not a dish for the faint harted: the canderli, already wonderfully moist, come with a generous butter and grated cheese condiment. On top of that, we also had a deeply satisfying fonduta (cheese galore today... with radicchio. For mains, a glossy roasted lamb shin, moist and tender and flavoursome, and a rather more wild tasting deer in salmi ' , the spices and herbs of the sauce coming through beautifully. Both dishes came with polenta, and a bread basket is also brought to the table as is the Italian traditional (one pays a tiny cover charge for this and for the very nice layout . These were two great example of homely Italian cuisine. After all that (portions are generous , we thought our cholesterol levels were high enough and we skipped desserts in spite of them being highly tempting. The room is warm and pleasant, the view is magnificent, service cannot be described as charming but they are genuine people going about their business in their own way, and we so love them all the same. Indeed we love everything at this chalet, including the prices :
40 years later, yesterday I returned to visit those places I found and found in beautiful.
