I paired it so delicious with the viognier wine! I come back as I often stay at the Hampton Inn Down at the bottom of the hill...
Last day we were for the first time 2 pairs to Brooklyn Bistro. Once you are going to feel you are in Little Italy dinner. Tables were set with tablecloth wine glass and we were immediately taken to our table to honor our 6:30 reservations. Maria was our waitress and our service was impeccable. Between us, we had starters, house salad, pasta, fish and meat eaters. Everything was cooked for perfection and freshly prepared, allowing us time between courses. We finished dinner with double-expressos and you need to leave room for desert. They were fantastic. I would remind Brooklyn Bistro for a fabulous dinner, a great service and an evening. Remember that this review of a Bronx type now lives in Jersey, so it must be good!
It hurts me to write this criticism. Brooklyn Bistro has always been one of my favorites. I love the people who work there and the food is usually great, but my last visit was a disappointment. The food was much overpriced and the portions of non-pasta items were ridiculously expensive. I ordered the Cod Special. No prices were offered when they read the specials and it was not my fault to ask. The cost was $35 and the piece of fish was literally a 3x3 inch square with 4 overcooked pieces of asparagus underneath. I asked for a diet coach to get 20 min and three inquiries. No salads came with meals. Besides, my table was placed right in front of the music. The singer was fantastic, but so loud I couldn't talk to the person next to me so it's impossible to have a conversation with the other 4 people at the table. I waited until I said nothing and they were very nice to say they asked him to lower the music, but I saw several others complaining and it didn't seem that it made a difference. We skipped the dessert and went somewhere else to get it so we could talk. So disappointing!
07/29/2022: Lunch for 4. This is my first visit and will NOT be my last. We enjoyed Octopus, Mussels and Meatball appetizers excellent. Friends order different entrees. My salmon was above average and a meat special (forgot name) was just as big. We were full and only enjoyed coffee for Dessert. I will certainly dine here again and recommend Brooklyn Bistro to anyone in the area looking for a good meal. Thank you.
We had Danielle as our server, she's GREAT. Attentive and not pushy. Had the rice balls as an appetizer, very delicious. Clams and linguine for dinner, was excellent. I'm sad that I didn't save any to take home. My husband said the cheesecake is better than mine. ?
