The restaurant was quite busy, and the service was lacking. We waited about 10 minutes before anyone introduced themselves, and there was minimal interaction throughout our meal. When it was time to pay, the waitress brought the bill with a mandatory 20% gratuity for a large party of 10 or more. I explained that we weren’t a large party; we had specifically requested separate tickets. The waitress went to consult with her manager, who insisted that, since we came in together and knew each other, we were considered a large party. I explained what the hostess had told us, emphasizing that we were several families from a small town eating at the same time, and there were other small groups at the communal table too. The policy seemed inconsistent and was being applied to fit their situation. Despite my explanation, the manager denied my request for separate checks again. I mentioned to the waitress that I would have tipped 25% if the situation had been handled better, but it felt forced and dismissive. The manager never came over to discuss our concerns, leaving the waitress in a difficult position. This experience has left a bad impression, and I won’t be returning after this disappointing visit.
We've visited this restaurant a few times now. My wife wasn't fond of the bread used for the Reuben sandwich or her last burger; she found it too thick and hard for her liking, as she prefers softer buns. I ordered the fried shrimp po' boy tacos and have also tried the Reuben and the Togarashi fries before, and I have no complaints about the food myself. The beer selection is quite decent, featuring some seasonal options. While pumpkin beer isn't to my taste, I can see why some might enjoy it. The service was satisfactory, though I didn't receive the side dish I ordered, but I also wasn't charged for it. Our waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed, so they might be short-staffed. Overall, I like the place and have a few more items on my list to try, such as the Fuji apple butternut squash slaw and the Kung Pao Brussels sprouts!
I would NOT recommend Fire Ant Brewery! Upon walking in, there was a terrible smell of old burnt grease. The menu has a very small amount if items to choose from. We ordered the Chilli Cheese Fries, no site of Chilli on these fries instead it was more of tomato paste. We also ordered 2 kids chicken strips and they came out smelling and tasted like a mixture of fish and under arm B O... yes, body odor. We sent back the 2 kids chicken strips and replaced them with the kids cheeseburger which was burnt on 1 side of the patty. Also got the pretzel appetizer to replace one of the kids chicken strips and the pretzel came out burnt and rather hard. Also ordered the chicken sandwich and it also tasted terrible as if the grease has been used for quite sometime. Our bill was over $100 and so not worth it! Waste of $100 and definitely not somewhere I will ever go again. If you do try it out, I hope the grease is changed out and your food comes out 100 times better than today! GOOD LUCK!
A nice dining experience... Texas pretzel w/ beer cheese and German mustard, Schnitzel sandwich potato salad
The food and beer were delicious but the best part was the service. Cameron went above and beyond to take care of us! We live an hour away and will definitely make the drive to come back again!
