Tortas Ahogadas - Tolleson

Hello all. I went Sunday with family to try this spot for the 1st time. Was recommended this spot for good tripas. I ordered a tripas burrito with just beans onions and cilantro. 15min after my family's food came out I asked about my burrito. Apparentlythey gave mine away. So a few minutes later they brought out my food. It was a nice big burrito but of course they didn't get itright because they put rice in it. I told them and told them to just make another one and make it to go since my family was doneeating already. They bring out this tiny burrito that was half the size of the original. And they say it's because there's norice. Lmao. Definitely wouldn't go back.

A colleague told me about this place but it was an almost one-hour drive. I went this weekend and I don 't regret spending around 1.5 hours in the car. Worth it!! I had the Torta Ahogada , which is a traditional sandwich from Jalisco. A birote bread filledwith carnitas and soaked in red sauce, with sliced onion on the side. A cold Modelo Especial and to finish this journey aJericaya, which is also a very tasty traditional desert from Jalisco. I was very surprised with the flavor and authenticity ofthe food, I used to go from time to time to Zapopan, Jalisco and this Torta Ahogada is a very good rival to the ones over there.

I definitely recommend this place. My fiancé and I came during his lunch break. The service was excellent! The food was really good! Yummy!

Oh my Gosh!! I was left speechless???? I kind of risked it with the torta ahogada cause I had no clue what I was going to recieve but I?m glad I did: My coworkers and I loved the food. They said they are authentic and they meant it. Not only thatbut their service was exceptional!! Too bad I can?t come here as often since I live on the other side of town:

The best drowned cakes in Arizona! If you're looking to experience Jalisco, this is the spot! Everything is amazing. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5.
