Sancho Y Panza - Toledo

Stick to the Paella if you decide to come here. It’s handy to the main square but if you go further I’m sure you’ll find something a lot better.

This restaurant looked fabulous as its tables were spotless and white linen laid. The sun screens had cooling mist spraying form them at regular intervals and it was busy usually a good sign. We ordered from the set menu I had paella and my partner had quail salad. We then ordered grilled chicken and pork loin respectively. The starters looked ok but tasted dreadful. My paella had prawns that were impossible to peel. Even the large one had very hard closed legs that I couldn't cut through. There was also some unidentifiable meat which was full of tiny bones in it. Then when my chicken arrived it was very thin and rock solid but definitely cooked! Chips were the only accompaniment no garnish. On the next table to us, two Spanish people had also ordered from the set menu, both ordering paella starter which looked amazing. Big difference. Very disappointed. First disappointing meal in our European tour so far. We never moan and always find something positive to say so the spraying of most was refreshing and the olives served with our drinks were lovely.

We were visiting toledo for a day trip and walked into the place for our lunch ... we were quite thrilled with the quaint alleyway hotel and its covered seating ... we spent a good 90 minutes here and lloved it My observations recommendations are 1. the sangria was divine : ... no other words to describe it 2. food was quite good and the kids loved the pizza 3. service was friendly and was on time 4. overall place was relaxed and great fun Worth a visit for sure : :
