Torafugutei - Tokyo

Fugu done several different ways. Sashimi is a must. Atmosphere is relaxing and cozy. Sake menu is a delight. Staff recommendations are thoughtful and welcomed.

Just finished dinner here. We are non-Japanese and do not speak Japanese. We just wanted to try fugu because we were visiting Japan for the first time. It was great! Highlights: staff is hospitable English menu available English INSTRUCTIONS available with pictures on HOW to eat fugu (very important if you are eating fugu for the first time). fugu was tasty preset fugu course was very helpful for us as we are foreigners I would recommend this to friends and family who visit this area of Tokyo. I recommend making a reservation, you can do so via Google maps reservation function. Make sure you show staff the confirmation email in Japanese. We almost were turned away because of a miscommunication/translation, but it worked out Thank you very much to the staff at the restaurant. Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu.

Phenomenal Restaurant. It was actually less expensive than what I expected, but still not as cheap as eating an incentive of the moment. I would also recommend a reservation because the place can be extremely busy during peak hours. Even with these two small disadvantages the food was amazing and the staff was equally great. Definitely a great place for every tourist who wants to try something new.
