The menu offers a wide variety of vegan dishes, all of which are incredibly well prepared. The red velvet dessert was my favorite. I also enjoyed the rubber bear dish, but I plan to try the bang and waggle next time.
At English Soul Food House LaTonya, a vegan soul eatery in Japan, you will find the perfect spot for authentic southern cuisine just a 3-minute walk from Azabu Juban train station. Operated by a couple from Atlanta, Georgia, the cozy atmosphere and incredible vegan options are highlighted on the menu. You can even pre-order the vegan mac n cheese. We arrived for Sunday brunch and the dining room quickly filled up with customers from around the world. Owners David and LaTonya welcomed everyone warmly, making it feel like a home away from home. We tried the ribeye steak, jambalaya, and tofu waffles, each dish bursting with bold flavors we had never tasted before. LaTonya suggested adding hot sauce to the tofu waffles, which enhanced the dish even more. For dessert, we indulged in the vegan brownie which was a perfect ending to our meal. Supporting this black-owned business in Tokyo was a true delight, so if you love soul food, don't miss a visit to Soul Food House!

There are so many vegan dishes on the menu, and all are amazingly well made. I love the red velvet cake! I enjoyed the rubber bear, but I think next time I will try the chicken and waffles.
