Pane E Vino Todi, Perugia

The wild boar was a bit dry but the sauce was well balanced and flavorful. The truffle pasta was a bit bland for my taste. I would go back to try different things.

Loved the food here so much we came for a second time for our last night in the area on honeymoon. The beef fillet with truffle is to die for and my husband had the ravioli, which was fresh and delicious. The front of house gentleman was really friendly as were the other staff.

We stayed in Todi for two days on our way driving back up Italy. It's a great hill town in Umbria, and it's easy to see why it's been voted one of Italy's most livable places. While we were there, we found Pane e Vino, and liked it so much we ate there both nights. The food is inventive and well-cooked, using ingredients which are traditional in a mountain area like this, but each dish felt fresh and considered. The staff were helpful, and made excellent (and reasonably priced) recommendations for local wine, and the owner made us feel very welcome. He's a real character, and rattled through the menu in a mixture of Italian and English. I'd happily drive all the way back from the UK to Todi, just to have dinner there again.

In una giornata fredda, ci siamo rifugiati in questo locale, che è più nascosto degli altri, ma che si trova accanto alla terrazza di Todi, che da sulla splendida vallata. Pensavamo di prenderci solo un tagliere, ed invece la lista del menu era allettante. Abbiamo preso gli strangozzi al tartufo, un risotto alla zucca e ceci con funghi porcini. Prima ancora un tagliere di salumi (oca, cervo, ecc Una cicoria e patate arrosto. Era tutto incredibilmente buono. Ho assaggiato tutti i piatti: ottimi. Le patate arrosto sembravano state sfornate dalla nonna: croccanti fuori e come un purea all'interno, non grasse, cotte alla perfezione. Proprietario e ragazze gentilissimi, come sentirsi a casa. Prezzi davvero davvero onesti. Credo sia l'unica trattoria da poter consigliare davvero, se desiderate sostare in un luogo tradizionale e casalingo. Tutto il resto lo trovo turistico e caro
