Haida House At Tllaal Lodge Cabins

Stayed at Haida House in August for six days in one of the cabins it was amazing and I didn't want to leave. The cabins are tastefully decorated and have everything you could need including a hot tub ! Perfectly situated in the woods close to the beach I had the best night's sleep in a long time. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful with amazing customer care and attention to detail. Food is amazing and they catered to my veggie needs. If I could give more than five stars I would fantastic

Kathy and her husband are incredible stewards of the environment and the guest experience at Haida House. The stay was very memorable for many reasons but especially because of their passion for the people and land of Haida Gwaii. Didn’t give it a full 5 stars because when I arrived my bathroom toilet wasn’t clean, also one of the days that I stayed the bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all and the sheets were just pulled over the bed. For the amount paid on a 7 day all inclusive stay I would have expected perfect room servicing. However, I did come to find out later that they’re having staffing issues as Covid is still very prevalent so hard to find people to work. The dinners were delicious every single night, lunch was ok (typically a cold sandwich and a salad and breakfast was hit/miss. While the pancakes were the best I’ve ever had, the huevos rancheros were bland and the potatoes were under done. The location is incredible and Kathy works tirelessly to ensure the guests have an amazing tour experience she was able to rearrange some tours for us last minute due to inclement weather. Moresby Explorers took us to Moresby Island (amazing! and Marni was our cultural ambassador can’t say enough good things about her, she has a wealth of knowledge and was very kind and compassionate with the whole group. I think once they’re fully staffed and trained they have lots of potential to be a full 5 star accommodation experience.

Beautiful spot, amazing food and very friendly hosts, community, and staff. We would highly recommend that anyone visiting Haida Gwaii should stop here.
