Sabor Rural - Tiradentes

Out of the way location, down from train station. Loved the kettle of frozen Caipirinhas Bought a bottle of their Cachacha to bring home. Pretty restaurant and friendly service. Food was pretty good. Would definitely go back for atmosphere and Caipirinhas.

Food is mainly slow cooked on the wood stove, most ingredients are local and it has a well known blood sauced cooked chicken frango ao molho pardo . The fried pork knee in german known as einsbein is very tasteful. Plates are large and enough for two. They have a frozen caipirinha served on water pot that is very very good. Prices are reasonable, service is very good. Located at almost 3 miles from city center, it does not have Wi Fi and it does not accept Credit Cards two problems nowadays that they must fix.

I spent my Friday there with friends and it was worth every single minute I chose to be there. The place is beautiful, well decorated and really prepared to offer great service.

The food is awesome and the place is great. I totally recommend it. Go with your kids or by yourself, people are nice and will make you feel at home.

Sabor Rural is the best reason to visit Tiradentes. The food is outstanding. The pork crackling they do as a starter 'Torresmo ' is to die for. Homemade cachaça and caipirinha, stunning. The setting is authentically rural, being placed on a former farm just outside town. The owner is a gentleman. He approached us and welcomed us, ensuring we had everything we wished for. Between my broken Portuguese and his patience and charm, he communicated that he had started the restaurant after growing up on the farm run by his father. Now he only grows food to supply the restaurant. There is a huge children 's play area, which the owner built himself. When people think of Brazil they think of the Copacabana, the Amazon, samba and the beaches of Salvador de Bahia. But having visited Minas Gerais for the first time, and sampled its famous cuisine, I am an advocate of the state. And nowhere did I enjoy this more than at Sabor Rural. It is rustic, family friendly, and above all, the food is outstanding. Now when I think of Brazil, I think of the idyllic setting, the traditional food, and the homemade cachaça at Sabor Rural. I would go back to Minas Gerais just to have another plate of 'Torresmo ' at this restaurant.
