I am saddened to find out that City Pizza has closed. This was one of my fondest childhood eateries, as my Gramps would always take us here after a hard day of gathering, hauling, splitting and stacking lumber (or various other cabin chores . By far my most favorite pizza dough and one that I would wish to have carried forward to the day I open my own pizza place. Their pies definitely instilled an appreciation for and love of pizza, in this humble boy, at a very young age. As I've grown over the years, it was always enjoyable to come back and see how the family had grown, moved and changed over the years; especially after my 5 year stint in the Navy that was far too long to go without making a seasonal check in. I chuckle, thinking back, as I recall the slow climb, as my height inched towards the ceiling, back near the bathrooms... year after year, I could feel it's impending closeness and eventual contact, finally cresting the stairs at my peak of 6'5 , more than enough to complete the circuit. Or, my nascent delve into pinball gaming having spent quarter after quarter of my hard earned logging change, mastering The Addam's Family pin. In the end, I will always cherish the memories and experiences with the scores of hapless friends and family that I had the pleasure of luring to this wonderful little slice of heaven : I can only hope that the torch has been carried on and the recipes are being enjoyed at some other little Pizzaria, tucked away, of a beaten path, waiting to surprise and delight the unexpected.
This place is closed! Was my favorite!
