Lovely place to stay and cant fault location. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food I cannot fault. Our room no 1 which is located at the rear of the building was very cosy and and nicely decorated but unfinished, it was a bit noisy as we had to keep our window open as the room did smell a little . The carpet was a bit grubby with stains and could do with a freshen up. The noises were from local dogs continuing to bark for a long period and some building work being done at the time. I would stay here again tho.
Visited Tintagel Castle yesterday and we are not from the area so didn’t know most kitchens closed mid afternoon. To set the scene the rain had just started to pour and it was incredibly windy, so we were cold, wet and hungry! After getting the cold shoulder at King Arthur’s Cafe, my husband and I headed to Ye Olde Malthouse Inn to look for a light bite. The landlady was so welcoming and pleasant. She kindly told us that the kitchen was closed but that we were more than welcome to get some food from elsewhere and come back to stay warm and dry. Really restored our faith in kind and decent human beings. Thank you, a little bit of kindness goes a long way and if we visit Tintagel or nearby again, we would happily book a room at the Inn.
Nice character pub. Seating indoor out. Dog friendly. Serve food, hot drinks as well as usual pub drinks. Sunday lunch is around £15 per person.
Really wonderful place to get food and drink. The staff here are so lovely, nothing is too much trouble and everything done with a smile and a personality. Highly, highly recommend this establishment!
