Ideal for an informal lunch or dinner in a friendly casual atmosphere. the tapas is large and the portions large, so do not order too much at a time. they get a delicious blue cheese with their broth basket when they sit and good service.
Chiki jai has been on the corner of the 7th and revolution since 1946. they start with green and red salsa with bolillos and blue cheese. serve excellent seafood in owalen pots like bacalao, garlic garnel, paella, mushrooms, papas, calamari steak, fish fillet,...spinach salat. desserts are flan and rice pudding. they moved this month over the road where the coronet was. great margaritas. they can pay more, but they won't find any better compromises anywhere. the decor is spanish by jai las gamers to bull fighters. the friendly waiter miguel and hector speak English and Spanish.
After a really good breakfast here, we returned for dinner the same day. This place is well established with good food. It's a quiet, small treasure amongst all the tourist trap places along Revolucion. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Interesting history on the walls;...most relating to bull-fighting.
The paella was good, the borrego (goat) was tasty with the bread. 120 pesos or about 9 dollars for paella. They give you a big basket of free bread. I didn't see blue cheese.
