My original plan was to order the NY strip steak, but I changed my mind when I saw the BBQ spare ribs on the menu, and that turned out to be a mistake. Two couples seated near me ordered the NY strip steak and were raving about it, which only added to my disappointment. Maybe it was just a bad day for the ribs when I visited. I would consider giving them another chance if I'm in town again, but I will definitely steer clear of the ribs next time. Also, just a heads up—no cards accepted!
The food was terrible, and I noticed dead bugs and cobwebs on the windows! The tomato sauce tasted like a blend of salsa and canned tomatoes, and the spaghetti was overcooked and mushy. The chicken marsala was greasy, and the mushrooms tasted like they came from a can. I would rather stay at home and go hungry than spend $60 on such awful food.
Cozy spot. Always busy but service is great. Everything is homemade on site. Prices are great... Fyi cash only place. Prime rib is my fav here. Portions are plentiful.
The cleanliness was a major concern; the floor was dirty, which raises questions about how well the kitchen is maintained. Also, while I understand that the building is old, the front area has a noticeable slant, and they had to use wooden blocks under our table to keep it level. Overall, the restaurant could really benefit from a deep cleaning and some repairs.
As my family and I (9 people) approached this place, the sign for the restaurant was covered in vegetation and hard to read from the road. Before we entered, there was a sign to notify customers that they don't take credit cards or debit cards. As we were standing there checking our pockets for cash, I recognized the overhang by the entrance had many holes in the structure from the carpenter bees making nests. When we entered, the bartender told us no credit cards or debit cards were accepted. The bartender also quickly informed us that they do not have any high chairs or booster seats for kids when she saw us holding my 17 month old son. We were all pretty hungry, so we told her we could still make it work. Then the bartender asked if we had a reservation for that evening and we had not. She told us that they were all booked for that evening even though only one table was occupied. In summary families are not welcomed to this place, which was more a dive bar than a restaurant at an inn.
