Parkers - Thurles

Lovely staff and really good food but our party were not asked for Covid vaccinations certs on arrival.

We were at parkers last Sunday and I ordered the beef dinner. To say I was dissapointed would be a huge under statement.The beef was of very poor quality, over priced and we had to ask for more vegtables and chips to feed a party of 3. The deserts were small and again over priced. We have been customers for years and the quality is certainly not what it used to be. We certainly hope it improves.

I hate to leave negative feedback but I'm doing so hoping these issues will be addressed because I was surprised and disappointed by my visit. We left €112 after us for a party of 3 so you would expect it to be pretty excellent quality and service for that. We have had many excellent meals here in the past so I'm hoping this was just a blip because it was Christmas season. The staff were very friendly and our table was ready immediately without delay and the courses come very fast, no waiting around however minerals are served in a can with a glass accompanied:the server didn't even pour the drinks, we just got an unopened can along with a glass. I had a beer, no ice was offered to me for my glass. The desserts were delivered to the table before all the used main dishes were cleared which is really off-putting. One senior waitress seemed to pick up on this and had to send our server back to clear immediately. Our original server wanted our dessert order at the beginning, which I found very unusual in a restaurant, so that when the desserts were delivered noone came and offered us tea and coffee. We sat waiting for someone to come back and ask us but noone did. We had to go look for the bill then because by this time things were very busy. The food was nice but one of our party ordered steak and asked the server twice to make sure it was well done, it was mostly well done but there were a few pink bits inside still. I've had nicer meals, better flavours, tastes etc. Overall it was nice but for the price we paid, I am disappointed. I just hope it was a blip.

Was here for dinner last Friday night Christmas Menu, which was excellent as usually when I read menus I only get about 3 things that I would like however this menu was quite extensive and had a lot of options. The starter was a ceaser salad croquette, I am an avid lover of Ceaser salad, so I was delighted to see this, it did not disappoint, the ceaser salad was all condensed into a croquette with some more ceaser salad on the side ! Excellent start, despite the fact that there was beef and chicken on the menu I went for the traditional Turkey and Ham again no disappointment here, it was very good and lots of it, after that we had traditional ice cream and apple crumble divided between two people. Tea and coffee at €30 per head it was an excellent menu, would recommend and would return, we had a few issues with seating but they were all solved, very quickly and efficiently by the staff,

There is no perfect restaurant in the world, but if you're seeking delicious, well-prepared food served with a smile at a great price in a lovely atmosphere, then Parkers is the spot for you. The Pays D'Oc Shiraz for €24 is also fantastic!
