Porter House - Thunder Bay

The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was prepared exceptionally well. On a Thursday evening, the place wasn't too crowded, which made it perfect for our date night. I would definitely recommend it and plan to return to try more dishes.

We had a wonderful dining experience. The decor was lovely and the atmosphere was quite peaceful. The waitstaff were very friendly. Thank you, Dallas! Our meals were absolutely delicious— I enjoyed a perfectly cooked rib, while my husband had the jambalaya. I also received a complimentary cheesecake for my birthday, which was delightful! Plus, you took a lovely picture of us. The prices were reasonable as well. I highly recommend this place!

High prices for extremely average food and small portions. Nothing on my plate, which I got the bacon wrapped beef tenderloins with loaded potato, surprised me or stood out in anyway. The general appearance of the restaurant earned it a few extra stars. Nice decor but very loud atmosphere. The waitress was OK friendly. The chef was suppose to make a medium well steak but it came out with blood. The waitress took it back, the chef flipped it over and sent it back. It was quite disappointing but we didn't want trouble with them after that. I wouldn't recommend to anyone that enjoys cooking or rich flavors on their dish, but maybe to those just wanting a place to meet a group, have drinks, and eat a high priced meal.

Very Dim Lit at night. looks like a great sports bar inside but i was there for dinner. Service was decent, dirty dishes were left on the table until we moved them to the end. Got the Rib eye, i will give the chef top props for thew cut selection and it was cooked to perfection. BUT.. it was paper thin. reminded me of a fast fry 1/2 thick. Baked potato was boring with little toppings and not enough sour cream. and veg side had nothing on them. healthy but no appeal. cheese sauce or even some spices could have made it look much better and added a bit of flavor. for 36 bucks i wasn't happy with what I received. Not saying the food was bad just poor presentation and very thin steak. All in all I probably wont be going back.

Atmosphere was very nice. Service was friendly, fast and overall great. Food was average. The new york striploin steak and rest of my meal had pretty good flavour but the steak was way too thin and had a weird texture like it was fried or microwaved. I feel like they should be thicker for the price of it. My girlfriend had the filet mignon and said it was cooked to perfection. Other then that, great place to go.
