The pizza is ok but could do with less cheese and the bottom of the crust has been soggy. They have a nice variety of dinners on the menu with specials. Salads and appetizers. The staff is friendly but in too much of a hurry that they have to come back to the table often for clarification of order. The wine selection is poor especially not having a basic Italian red wine when your menu is basically Italian. They can't keep saying they're working on it. The booths are very uncomfortable, the built in table is too narrow but they have a lot of seating that can be adjusted for all size of parties. Grass cutting and better signage would give the place some curb appeal. Needs a clean up. All in all we are very pleased that the McKenzie is back in operation and with some tweaking it should be around for a long time. Good Luck.
Went to the restaurant based on reviews from friends who live in the area. We ordered the house salad, a ham and pineapple pizza and lobster and black truffle penne. Both the pizza and salad were okay. The pasta was good, but there was no discernible taste of truffles. I understand their price for local beers is very good, however, we did not have any. The restaurant is licensed. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was bright and clean. Not a place I'd go to from the city, but will be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. If you are hungry and driving by, it would be a reasonable place to check out.
Handicapped accessible. Nicely decorated. Servers were very friendly and welcoming. Our group had three pizzas...meat lovers, Hawaiian and Mediterranian...all very good. Would definitely go back and try other menu items.
Had the Mediterranean and the BBQ Chicken pizzas as well as the Garlic Parm wings. Price is reasonable. Decent thin crust. Personally the Mediterranean is light years better than the BBQ chicken, but the rest of the crew enjoyed both.
MacKenzie Riverside Pizzaria has the best Donairs in Northwestern Ontario and the pizzas are awesome! It is easy to find just off the Trans-Canada, well worth a visit!
